A Heat Advisory has been issued for large portions of Central California from Thursday through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Daytime high temperatures are expected to reach 100°F to 105°F, creating dangerous conditions for those spending extended time outdoors.

The advisory covers much of the central San Joaquin Valley and surrounding foothills, including:
- Fresno
- Bakersfield
- Hanford
- Visalia
- Merced
- Portions of the Sierra Nevada foothills and Kern County communities.
Why This Heat Matters
The National Weather Service warns that prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to:
- Heat exhaustion
- Heat cramps
- Heat stroke
- Increased risk for older adults, young children, outdoor workers, and people without air conditioning.
